The first book in Rebecca Grey’s The Wing’s and Witches series, A Cursed Hunt, introduces readers to Meira and Nikremis and the world in which they live. Meira is a dragon rider who has hidden her identity as a witch from her squad for years, and finds herself marked with a curse that could mean the end of her and her dragon. Nikremis, or Remis, is the son of a nobleman who has only ever wished to study magic. Yet, he’s being hunted by a witch he’s never met.

Clik here to view. The fact that the main characters aren’t physically in the same space and interacting until the last quarter of the book. Meira and Remis are excellent together and the story truly took off once they were together. It was honestly a bit of a struggle to get through the first three quarters of the book though to get to that point.

Overall I would say I liked this book, but I didn’t love it. The last quarter of the book did suck me in and I would be interested in seeing how things continue in book two especially since it ends with a cliffhanger. If you like dragons and some of the tropes mentioned above definitely check this one out.
